This year for 11th successive time was held the Traditional bowling tournament. The project of RC Plovdiv-Puldin became an anticipated event for all the friends Rotarians from the district. For 11 years our project keeps and develop our warm friendship relations and the unfading sports spirit of all rotarians.
In the contest of October, 4th and 5th participatedand their wives: RC Ruse-Dunav, RC Shumen, RC Svishtov, RC Plovdiv, RC Plovdiv-Philipopol and RC Plovdiv-Puldin, RC Velingrad and RC Pleven. Our kind hosts from “Aqualand” Plovdiv once again provided us with excellent conditions for the bowling tournament. The organization of the event was first class and the competition for the leadership in the chart was great.
The team competition for men included 19 participants from 6 RCs. For the first time the regulations followed the rules of the Federation, which allowed everybody to hive their best. The first four of the contestants had results above the limit of 500 points. Series with such amount of points are of the level of the Federation bowling tournaments.

The ladies also did not step aside from the stronger sex and competed for the first places with much of fire and will to win. There were 10 ladies in the three competing teams: Maria Goranova, Margret Popnikolova, Staika Mincheva, Maria Stoilova, Vania Atanasova, Aneta Popova, Alex Atanasova, Tsveti Atanasova, Magi.

The best players for this year’s bowling tournament excelled in the individual battles and in wining the prices both for the men and for the women. The three players with the highest scores in the category of men were: Svetozar Penchev from RC Ruse-Dunav, Veselin Pavlov from RC Plovdiv-Philipopol, Rumen Yordanov from RC Svishtov. The ladies finalists who performed the best in the tournament were: Maria Stoilova from RC Plovdiv-Puldin, Aneta Popova from RC Plovdiv-Puldin, Alex Atanasova from RC Shumen.

The awarding with the prizes took place during a friendly dinner. Among the official guest of the 11th bowling tournament were the Past District Governor – Atanas Atanasov, the Secretary of the District – Dimitar Dimitrov and the Assistant District Governor of area 8 – Angel Angelov. All of them, together with the main organizer of the event Lyubozar Fratev, quite exited awarded the best players in the sportsmanship contest. The organizer of the bowling tournament Lyubozar Fratev was rewarded a Certificate of Ownership and Support of the Rotary ideas.
